At the August 8, 2010 SCPS board meeting, they voted to grant two honorary memberships to the city of Riposto, Italy and the Botanical Gardens at Catania, Italy. Also on August 8, the city of Riposto had a Plumeria Festival where they declared the city to be "The City of Plumeria" ("Città delle Pomelie").
